Technical inspections

TST - Technical testing

The standard ISO 60204-1 requires that tests are carried out as a prerequisite for certification of electrical and electronic devices. The Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC is definitive in Europe, and other Directives outside Europe are based on this standard, which is valid worldwide. The prescribed checks include, amongst others:

  • Checking general protection
  • Checking insulation resistance
  • Stress tests and measuring residual voltage
  • Checking dielectric strength.
